The struggle for economic prosperity is difficult for everyone. We consider it our mission and strive to be a leader on the issue of financial literacy initiatives locally and nationally and have dedicated staff and financial resources to compliment and expand education opportunities in our area. We have been honored with recognition of our efforts by receiving awards relative to financial literacy.
Locally, we have partnered with local school districts in the creation of student-run high school branches and have provided an environment where teens learn about responsible money management in a real life setting. The hands-on experience and enhanced curriculum in the areas of finance, marketing and business provide an unparalleled learning opportunity. We also assisted in the development of the Personal Financial Management course that is now a requirement to graduate from the Appleton Area School District.
At Community First we work with teachers and government leaders locally and at the state level to develop the resources and requirements our children need to have a chance at a financially responsible future. One of the programs we are proud to support and contribute to is Money Smart Week Wisconsin, which is aimed at building financial knowledge and identifying means for effective management of your finances.
