About Us Financial Literacy High School Partnership

High School PartnershipHigh School Branches In 1999 Community First began a unique and successful partnership with the Appleton Area School District by opening our first high school branch at Appleton West High School. Additional branches at Appleton East High School , Appleton North High School and Oshkosh West High School soon followed. Students at these schools are responsible for running the branch and perform duties from accepting membership applications to processing deposits. This arrangement provides students with a real life work experience and an opportunity for financial education. The branch is open to students, faculty and staff that work at the school and are open during the school lunch periods.
Personal Financial Management courses, now a requirement to graduate from Appleton Area School District, empower students to manage the challenge of living and working in a diverse global society. In these classes, students will be prepared to help improve their economic standing by focusing on how to better manage their money and make important financial decisions.
Reality Check is part of the financial literacy coursework for high school students in the Appleton Area School District and at Oshkosh School District. During Reality Check, students visit multiple life stations, staffed by volunteers from Community First and many other leading area businesses and organizations, gaining first-hand experience and insight into making choices, budgeting and using money wisely. We are the proud sponsor and organizer of this practical financial management simulation that helps students build important financial objectives and knowledge.
