For Immediate Release

June 7, 2010

APPLETON, Wis. – Community First Credit Union’s seventeen branches are participating in a charitable fundraiser to help send World War II veterans that live in Northeast Wisconsin to Washington DC to experience the recently completed World War II Memorial.

Every $500 raised sends a veteran on the wait list to take the Old Glory Honor Flight trip which is supported by donations and completely free to the veterans. Now through July 3rd, all Community First Credit Union branches are drop-off points for cash donations to help send the more than 400 World War II veterans waiting to take the trip.

Old Glory Honor Flights depart Northeast Wisconsin and return on the same day after visiting several sites around Washington DC including the World War II Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and the Vietnam War Memorial, as well as Arlington National Cemetery.
