Community First sponsors two scholarship opportunities for 2016 graduates

High school seniors encouraged to apply soon for $1,000 and $1,500 awards

Upcoming 2016 high school graduates have two opportunities to apply for scholarship awards sponsored or co-sponsored by Community First Credit Union.

Deadlines are Feb. 8 for the three $1,000 scholarships offered by Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions (FCCCU) and Feb. 11 for Community Firstís Youth Scholarship Award, a $1,500 scholarship and a $1,000 donation to a local charity selected by the recipient as part of the Celebrating Our Volunteers event.

Graduating seniors or their parents can click on the homepage spotlight on this website go to StudentSmart/Scholarship links under the Personal tab to access contest rules, applications or nomination forms on the scholarship page.

Applicants for the FCCCU scholarships must submit a written essay and community involvement paragraphs. Winners will be notified by March 7 and scholarships presented at the FCCCU banquet on March 21.

The Community First Youth Scholarship recognizes a high school student who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in promoting volunteerism in the community through a single act of volunteerism or a number of volunteer efforts. The recipient will be recognized at the April 19 Celebrating Our Volunteers event along with other volunteers honored for their contributions to community service, health care, mentoring, business/nonprofit partnerships, the arts and education.
