Diaper Green Bay to make a difference June 20 - July 16

The need for clean diapers is great – an estimated one in three families don’t have enough. Now, it’s our turn to do something about it in the greater Green Bay area.

Please join Community First Credit Union in supporting the fifth annual Diaper Green Bay – a diaper drive from June 20 to July 16 where we can show our collective community spirit and heart by protecting our youngest residents. Community First is once again partnering with House of Hope and Green Bay Doulas to accept donations of diapers, wipes and money at three branches during the four-week drive.

Diaper Green Bay was founded by Green Bay Doulas, and all donations benefit the nonprofit House of Hope Green Bay, Inc., which provides emergency shelter and housing stability programs where parents of young children experiencing homelessness can become confident, independent and successful community members. Many House of Hope families include infants and children under age 5.

Access to clean diapers is something many take for granted but is a significant obstacle to struggling families. Food assistance programs do not cover diapers, most licensed daycare facilities require disposable diapers and most laundromats do not allow the washing of cloth diapers due to sanitary concerns. It is hard to comprehend the physical and emotional toll suffered by children kept in dirty diapers for extended periods of time.

Overall, there are two dozen Diaper Green Bay drop-off locations this year, including three Community First branches:
  • 2949 Riverview Dr, Green Bay, WI 54313 (Howard)
  • 1700 Lawrence Dr, De Pere, WI 54115 (West De Pere)
  • 3282 Eaton Rd, Green Bay, WI 54311 (Bellevue)

July 16 final event
The final collection event will be held 10 am to 2 pm July 16 at the House of Hope, 1660 Christiana St., Green Bay.

Since its 2018 inception, Diaper Green Bay has collected more than 180,000 diapers for distribution to families in need. Open or partial packages of diapers are accepted and the most needed are larger diapers (sizes 4-7) and potty-training paints (Pull-Ups) in all sizes.

Please consider making a donation of new diapers, wipes or money to benefit this worthy cause.
