2023 scholarship opportunities for CU members

Three $1,000 scholarships from the Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions
Community First Credit Union is once again part of the Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions offering three $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are active members of participating credit unions.
Applications require a completed entry form and responses to essay and community involvement questions. Entries and attachments must be submitted by the March 31 deadline.
An applicant must hold an account in their name with Community First Credit Union or one of 13 other participating credit unions by Jan. 31, 2023, and be attending a two-year or four-year accredited educational institution in the fall of 2023. The scholarship recipients will be selected by the chapter’s Scholarship Award Committee based on typed responses to the following:
- Essay question: With rising costs due to inflation, including college tuition and housing expenses, how do you plan to ensure a healthy and successful financial future? (Minimum 350 words, maximum 500 words)
- Community Involvement question: Describe one volunteer opportunity that impacted your life, and how you will use that impact going forward. (1 or 2 typed paragraphs)
The entry form and typed responses must be received or postmarked (via mail, email, fax or dropped off in person) by March 31. Winners will be notified by April 11, 2023, and scholarships will be presented during the Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions chapter meeting on April 25, 2023.

Applications due Feb. 8 for spring CFCU scholarship
The FVTC Foundation is accepting applications through Feb. 8 for its spring semester scholarships for currently enrolled Fox Valley Technical College students.
Community First Credit Union sponsors a $500 scholarship in the spring and fall semesters each school year for deserving FVTC students. It is among more than $800,000 in scholarships awarded annually.
Applications for the spring scholarship cycle must be submitted by the Feb. 8 deadline online at:
To be eligible, a student must be enrolled and attending FVTC classes for an associate degree, technical diploma or apprenticeship program at the time and include two instructor references. Applications are reviewed and scored by a review committee. Recipients will be notified by mid-April.
Amber Leslie of Winneconne was chosen as the $500 Community First scholarship winner last fall.
