Three Scholarship Opportunities Now Open

In partnership with the Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions and its members, Community First Credit Union is proud to offer three $1,000 scholarship opportunities to deserving high school seniors to go towards their next educational step.

Do you know a student who is also a credit union member? Please encourage that bright student to apply for a $1,000 scholarship! We’re looking to hear from thoughtful young leaders who value financial stability and active community engagement.

Essay Requirements

The scholarship awards will be based on the following questions:

  1. Financial Education: What was the biggest impact financial lesson/knowledge you received in high school? What lessons in financial education did you not receive? How much impact do you feel both aspects (good/bad) will have on your financial future?
  2. Community & Charity: Write about a time when you benefited from an act of charity that someone else performed. What did that person do for you? What did it inspire you to do to make a difference moving forward?

 

Eligibility & Rules

  • Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or be attending a two-year or four-year accredited educational institution in the fall of 2026.
  • Applicants must also be an active member and hold an account, in their name, at of one of the following credit unions: Badger Globe, Capital, Community First, CoVantage, Evergreen, Fox Communities, Oshkosh Communities, PCM, Prospera, Ripple, Simplicity, Unison, Verve, or Winnebago Community.

Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: March 31, 2026 (via mail, email, fax or in-person)
  • Winner Notification: April 10, 2026
  • Awards Presentation: Winners will be invited to the Greater Fox Cities Chapter Meeting on April 20, 2026 in Appleton, Wisconsin
