Graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in college or currently enrolled technical college students regardless of age have upcoming scholarship opportunities completely or partially funded by Community First Credit Union.

Three $1,000 Scholarships

Community First is a co-sponsor of three $1,000 scholarships for graduating high school seniors as part of the Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions annual scholarship program. The scholarships are awarded to active credit union members (must have a credit union account opened by Jan. 31) and based on responses to essay and community involvement questions. Deadline to enter is March 30.

Applicants must submit an essay of 350-500 words to answer this question: If you ran a credit union, what initiatives/programs/products would you implement to foster the philosophy of ‘People Helping People’?

A response is also needed regarding these community involvement questions: If you could start your own charity, what would your mission be? Who would you serve? What kinds of acts of service would volunteers perform?

A chapter Scholarship Award Committee will review all applications, including the essays and community involvement responses. Recipients will be notified by April 11 and scholarships presented at the April 23 chapter meeting.
