Community First Credit Union is once again collaborating with other local credit unions to help members dispose of sensitive paperwork and household items by hosting shredding and electronics recycling events across Northeastern Wisconsin.

This event is open to member-owners only.
 

Free secure document shredding – limit 5 grocery-sized bags.
Household & electronics recycling – most small electronics are free to recycle, with a small fee (CASH ONLY) for some other items.

Sewing Machines
Scanners
Keyboards
Computer Mice
Toasters
Instapots
Air Fryers [Batteries and bulbs should be removed from the devices prior to the event.]

There are some items that we have to charge a small fee to recycle because they contain hazardous materials like lead, cadmium, and other heavy metals that are hazardous to our environment and are costly to recycle. Thank you for your understanding and help in keeping these electronics out of rivers, ditches, or landfills.

Items for a Fee:  

  • Freon Containing Devices: $10
  • Dehumidifiers: $20
  • Small (Dorm) Refrigerators: $20
  • Window A/C units: $20
  • Monitors/TVs under 30": $20
  • Monitors/TVs 30" & over: $40
  • Console or Projection TVs : $60


Items NOT Accepted: 

  • Materials with liquid inside 
  • Medical waste
  • Toxic, Flammable or Hazardous waste (cleaning supplies, cosmetics, oils or lubricants, paints, aerosols, ammunition)
  • Filters (oil, water, other) 
  • Gasses Under Pressure


IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION --- We ask that you stay in your car when delivering items. Our volunteers will take care of transferring items for you.
